Parking lot U kapličky – Along the blue trail – Bouda v Obřím dole (Giant Valley chalet) – Kaplička v Obřím dole (Giant Valley chapel) – Back along the same track

A delightful stroll along the banks of the river Úpa along the blue hiking trail is not only the start point of a strenuous climb to Sněžka, but can also become an individual trip recommended mainly for families, children and adults pushing baby carriages.
This huge mountain valley of glacial origin as well as moraines, corries, waterfalls and avalanche slopes has become a nature preserve full of wild flowers.
At the end of the asphalt road you reach a chapel hidden in the heartland of Obří důl, which is a memorial of tragic events of 1897 when a landslide buried two settlements. Seven mountaineers died.

The road is well-accessible due to its asphalt coating and thanks to popular chalets in Obří důl and Bouda Pod Sněžkou you don't have to worry about food.
