From the bus station, go to the main access junction. Go straight on at the junction and just after the bridge turn left to the red-marked cycling trail K1A (THERE IS A STEEP CLIMB OF 27%). Go straight on through Janovy Boudy till you come to Spálený Mlýn. Turn left on the main road and after 500 metres turn left to the blue-marked cycling trail K25 (second bridge). Go 11 km along the circular trail via Lví důl until you come to the main road where you turn left. After 1 km take the green-marked cycling trail K 24 heading to the left. In order to reach the church in Malá Úpa, take the next sharp turn to the right. At the church follow the red-marked trail called cesta bratří Čapků to Cestník signpost located in the saddle between Dlouhý hřeben and Pomezní hřeben, which makes it an ideal place for a rest. Then go along the cycling trail K26 to Horní Maršov. Go through the square Bertholdovo náměstí in Horní Maršov, go over the bridge and continue along the red-marked cycling trail leading to Pražská bouda. The trail is winding so be careful not to lose the markings. Go past Modrokamenná bouda, ascent to Krausovy boudy and continue via Pardubické boudy to Václavák. BE CATIOUS! There is a steep downhill passage leading to Václavák and we recommend to walk the bike there. Turn right at Pražská bouda to the green-marked cycling trail K20 leading to Pec pod Sněžkou.
Tips:
- At Janova bouda, take a short detour to the chalet Borůvka to see beautiful views of the valley of Velká Úpa and Sněžka.
- In the evening drop by at Pražská bouda from which you can see stunning sunsets.
