Hnědý vrch - Hrnčířské Boudy - Černá hora - Světlá hora - Pec pod Sněžkou

This short trip full of fantastic view starts at Hnědý vrch, which you can reach by the chair lift. From Hnědý vrch follow the cycling route K1K to Lesní bouda that offers delicious homemade locally-sourced dishes, which makes it an ideal place for a break. Below Lesní Bouda take the red-marked cycling trail K1B and go on to Hrnčířské boudy. Then go straight on to the green-marked trail K1E to the signpost Údolí Čisté, Turn left there onto the blue-marked trail K19B. After 2.4 km the way starts to descent, but you continue going uphill along the path called 1. Krkonošská cyklo NS. This educational cycling trail will take you to Vlašské boudy. The trail goes around the mountains Černá and Světlá hora so that it offers views of all surrounding valleys. Bear in mind that trail markings change along the way. From Vlašské boudy to Javoří Mlýn take the blue-marked trail K23 and then turn left to the old way to Pec pod Sněžkou.

Tips:

  • Begin your trip by enjoying beautiful views from the lookout tower at Hnědý Vrch. In favourable weather conditions you can see as far as the Jeseníky mountains and the Orlické hory mountains.
  • Another viewpoint spot is the look-out tower at mount Černá hora. The tower is 21 metres high, has 106 steps and is located just 100 metres from the upper station of Černohorský Express cable car, near the ski lift Anděl. FUN FACT: A TV camera for the national TV station ČT2, broadcasting daily from 8 a.m is located at the top of the tower.
  • In the middle of the settlement of Vlašské Boudy is a rectangular chapel called Zvonička. It serves as a place of repose for passers-by, a shelter from severe weather conditions, or a meeting place for locals. The chapel was built so as to preserve the spirit of the mountains. It offers beautiful views of the surrounding area and is complemented by wooden reliefs and glass components. FUN FACT: When decending from Vlašské boudy you will pass the clearing Fucnerova paseka on the right, which is used as a winter enclosure for deer.
