Pec pod Sněžkou - Šraml - Velká Úpa - Pec pod Sněžkou

The starting point of the trail is set at the crossroads in Pec pod Sněžkou. From this point on, just beyond Máj Hotel, the track runs along the southern hillside up, past the guest house Irena, up (there is no waymark there) until you reach the signpost junction known as Šraml. There is a rest area as well as an information panel which informs about the history of the place.
Take the yellow mark down from Šraml, and after about a kilometre turn left to the road leading to Pomněnka chalet (Forget-me-not Chalet) towards Zadní Výsluní (Back Sunny Side).
The tranquil valley of Velká Úpa spreads before you, including the chairlift to Portášky in the heart of the valley.  Continue to Velká Úpa along the unmarked road.

To get back to Pec pod Sněžkou, choose the blue hiking trail – the so called Upper Way between Pec and Úpa. The well-known Upa's trout hatchery is really worth seeing. The blue trail leads on over the railway bridge overarching the river Úpa and then runs on up past the boarding house Marienka. Pec is only 1.5 km away from this spot.
