SKIING AREAS
The complete services are secured for the fans of skiing, snowboarding, freestyle and telemark: specialised equipment hires, servicing facilities and skiing lessons of all levels.
Both skiing areas SKI-Pec and SKI-Port are connected by free ski buses, share a common fare system and other interesting actions, including special fares for families with children, who can make use of various advantages.
10% DISCOUNT WITH GUEST CARD
Guests accommodated in Pec pod Sněžkou or Velká Úpa have a discount on two to seven-day ski passes in both areas with their GUEST CARD.
CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING AND SKI TOURING
Pec pod Sněžkou offers many opportunities also for cross-country skiers, ski tourers and fans of winter tourism. They can use the maintained routes of the Krkonoše Arterial Route (Krkonošská magistrála) and other additional services, such as equipment hires, left luggage office and servicing facilities. If you are a beginner, you can improve your technique by means of a lesson with an instructor and set out for a ridge trip.
Pec pod Sněžkou is also the starting point for popular ski touring routes. For maps and descriptions including GPS information, see www.skipec.com, www.skiport.cz and www.krnap.cz. Before a hike, do not forget to check the snow and weather conditions, avalanche danger and recommendations of the Mountain Rescue Service.
CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR'S EVE IN THE MOUNTAINS
The Christmas holidays in the mountains is one of the strongest winter experiences. Thanks to its altitude and unique climate, Pec pod Sněžkou meets the preconditions for really white Christmas. Those who wish to try their new skiing equipment they have got as Christmas presents do well if they are bound for Pec or Velká Úpa.
The New Year's Eve at a mountain hut and the winter atmosphere with friends, in its turn, represent the real spice of life and we should all treat ourselves to it!
RELAX PARK - Mountain bobsleigh track
The bobsleigh track is in operation also in winter. It is 900 metres long and its upper end is accessible by a ski lift. A two-seat special bobsleigh suitable also for parents with children can reach the speed of up to 40 kmph, but a control allows you to determine the speed of the ride yourselves. At some places, you ride as high as eight metres above the ground.
Children aged up to 8 must be accompanied by a person older than 12 during the ride.
Children fare applies to children with the height of up to 140 cm.
Children aged up to 3 ride free of charge.
SNOWTUBING
Snow tubing - a ride in a rubber boat in an ice channel - is a popular winter adrenaline sport. The attraction depends on the snow conditions. You can find it at the Velká pláň locality in the centre of Pec.
SCENIC RIDES
Various scenic rides represent an interesting attraction. You can enjoy a ride in a horse-drawn coach, horse riding, a dog sleigh ride or a scenic ride in a snow cat.
ICE SKATING
An ice rink for skating is located near the Máma hut. It operates only in winter; skate rental is included in the price.
WELLNESS & FITNESS
After an exhausting sport programme, be it downhill or cross-country skiing, you can enjoy a wellness programme and fitness in the Horizont hotel. A public swimming pool is located also in the Energetik hotel.
BOWLING & DISCO
Bowling and disco also represent popular types of entertainment. You will find music entertainment in Meex club in Pec pod Sněžkou and bowling in the Bowling and Gaming House Velká Úpa, Bowling Bar Pec pod Sněžkou, Bowling Pension Relax Velká Úpa or in the Máma hut.
