THE EXISTING CABLEWAY TO THE SUMMIT OF SNĚŽKA WILL OPERATE UNTIL 15 MAY 2012. THE LOWER PART WILL OPERATE UNTILL 31 AUGUST 2012.
The project has received a subsidy support of up to CZK 230 million from the EU funds (the 18th round of the call - the support sphere 1.2 Support of projects improving transport services in the area). The consortium of the companies BAK, a.s. and Leitner AG, a cableway producer, won the tender for the contractor with the price of CZK 299 million, VAT excluded. Given the fact that the price resulting from the tender is lower than the design price (up to CZK 330 million), the municipality of Pec pod Sněžkou will receive support worth CZK 206 million for the financing of the project from the EU funds. The municipality covers the remaining amount from its own means and/or with the use of a credit.
The construction will take place between October 2011 and June 2014, when the new facility must be put into operation.
